aegrescit medendo

Thank you to everyone who was able to make today's noon conference. The powerpoint has been placed on SWIMED for your review. As we move into next year our doors will remain open to your feedback on ways to make our program better.

In just a month some of our current interns will be leading teams and starting their first shifts on ICU nights. This may sound overwhelming, but remember that it all comes down to organization. Think about how you'll start your day, how you want to teach your interns, and how you'll make sure patients receive the very best care. For our second years, next year will be your time to shine. Staff will look to you to step into an even bigger leadership role and truly direct care in anticipation of your graduation. For our fellow third years, apparently there's a rule that residency can be extended by 30 days so let's knock this last month out together.

Board prep week starts on Monday, June 4th and go until Friday, June 8th. You're more than welcome to bring study materials to help you better absorb the information, but please refrain from using your phone as a courtesy to our presenters. The day will be littered with breaks and plenty of time to stay in communication with your loved ones.

Next week is going to be tough with the third years completing board prep. We wanted to thank everyone who had their schedules shifted to make sure coverage was adequate. When we are stretched out like this it can be hard to perform at your best level, but keep in mind that you're nearing the end of the academic year and are ready for the next step. We appreciate everyone's attention at noon conference today and are excited about the changes to come.

All the Best,
Charis, Andrew, Shamyal, and Kirill
