Fun Fall Things!

Hello all,

A quick update for anyone with some vacation lined up on a few days off for their RRC. There are some fun events coming up if anyone is interested. We suggest:

Austin City Limits

-Fun music festival, lots of bands, October 6-8th and 13-15th in Zilker Park in Austin (headliners Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Gorrilaz) https://www.aclfestival.com/

-Fredericksburg, about 2 hours away, is an awesome town founded by German immigrants about 150 years ago. There’s awesome German food/breweries, lots of unique boutiques, and at least 30+ Texas wineries in the vicinity (Texas wine country). Anyway, they have an annual festival which is one of the biggest Oktoberfest festivals in the country. The event is October 6th-8th this year. If you get a chance, rent one of the many bed and breakfasts and enjoy the event. http://oktoberfestinfbg.com/

Trivia Night

-The Dancing Bee Winery (in conjunction with Walker Honey Farms) is a winery specializing in mead made from local central Texas Honey. In addition to joining a wine/honey club, they have monthly Trivia night where you can test your meddle against other teams in trivial combat! Check out their website to register your team; the next event is October 21st. Check it out http://www.dancingbeewinery.com/trivia-night/ . FYI, I’m planning to copyright my team the COX INHIBITORS, so don’t even think of taking it!

-For those of you that enjoy a more live theatrical experience, the Temple Civic Center is putting on a performance of Agatha Cristie’s And Then There Were None, a mystery from October 5-7th. http://www.artstemple.com/

Robinson Family Pumpkin Patch

-For any of you with kiddos that enjoy fall activities (or adults that want to be a kid again), there is a local family farm with a pumpkin patch, hay rides, corn maze and all the fun things you remember when celebrating fall as a kid. Check it out, its in the northeast part of town. https://www.therobinsonfamilyfarm.com/

Brew at the Zoo

-Come out and see the Waco zoo! On October 14th from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM you can go to the zoo late at night and hand out with cool animals. General admission includes zoo entry and beer tastings. They also have cash bars and for those of you just there to see the animals, designated drivers get in cheaper.
